Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Believers of Glory in Jesus Christ Church was founded on
October 26, 2013 and was established on January 14, 2014.
On October 26, 2013, at 10:30 AM, Minister Damon Brewington called the Brewington Family together for the announcement of organizing and forming a church at Gladden
Elementary School in Belton, Missouri. Approximately 12 people were present, which included: Paul and Renee Brewington, Tyrone and Marquita Tabron and family, Darius and Yvonne Brewington, Damon and Beverly Brewington, Sr., and Linda Patterson, the representative for the school building. The meeting discussion was based on the goals and objectives of 2014. A unanimous vote to name the church “Believers of Glory in Jesus Christ” was approved.
Before the church doors were open, Pastor Damon Brewington contacted the
neighboring church, Belton Christian Church, Disciple of Christ, and the presiding Pastor, Jim Bottrell, which is located next door to the school. Pastor Bottrell received Pastor
Brewington with open arms as a father in the ministry. He also invited Pastor Brewington to the Minister’s Luncheon, which is a multicultural association of various denominations of whom Pastor Bortell is the president.
On January 14, 2014, at 10:00 AM, the birth of a church was born. The church was in an infant stage, without Deacons, Ushers, and other various ministries, but God’s Divine Word went forth and the church began to blossom.
Within two months, visitors began to attend and God opened up a door for a musician to join, Brother Mark Williams. As time passed, the Sunday School and Wednesday Prayer and Bible Study began. Believers of Glory in Jesus Christ Church has continued to evolve by establishing an Annual School Supply and Clothing Give Away, hosting speakers every third Sunday, and , for the last two years, have conducted two-day conferences titled, “Living Sanctified in an Unsanctified World” (2017), “How to Overcome Life’s Obstacles” (2018), at the North Plains Baptist Church in Claycomo, Missouri, with Pastor David Warren. Pastor Brewington and Sister Brewington are heavily involved in the Belton community, attending regular meetings around providing services for the homeless and the poor. Pastor Brewington has also stayed connected with the Kansas City Community of Churches through the Union District. Just recently, the church, under the guidance of Sister
Brewington, has started a Bipolar Support Group for parents with adult children that suffer from this disease and other mental illnesses that meets the third Saturday of each month. A 2Mile walk is planned for September 15 to highlight this disease by “Putting a Face” to it.
On April 26, 2014, at 3:30 PM, at Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Damon Brewington was installed as Pastor of Believers of Glory in Jesus Christ. The Lord has since provided a building June 2015 that is located at its current location, 100 Main Street Suite A, Belton, Missouri.
Believers of Glory in Jesus Christ Church believes that “Eyes have not seen nor ears have heard what God has in store for the Church”.
